OUR STORY

OneToAnother is an evolution of our retirement living offering.

Established in 1968, the Buxton Group is focused on delivering properties across residential, commercial, hospitality and recreation sectors. And when our founder, Richard Buxton, couldn’t find a retirement apartment for his ageing parents that allowed them to enjoy the lifestyle and community they had known their whole lives, we decided it was time to add retirement to our development portfolio.

Richard’s daughter, Samantha Buxton joined the business in 2001, and has been an integral part of developing and crafting retirement residences from one family to another.

OneToAnother Retirement Living managed by the Buxton family aim to create a collection of luxury independent living residences, offering full service and support to residents at our Granton and Crescent developments, both located in Brighton.

Our work is immensely personal. Each community and residence centres around the needs of our residents – with every detail framed by one question: Are we creating a place that we would like to live?

Our tailored services and support options allow you to enjoy your independence with peace of mind. When you want a little extra help at home – whether that’s preparing meals, laundry or house cleaning – we can provide short term or permanent assistance to suit your needs. We also have regular visits from allied health professionals to maintain your health and wellbeing and can arrange pharmacy collections for you.

Sandra Doolan, Village Manager

As a health professional with over 17 years’ experience in the retirement industry, Sandra is highly respected for her management expertise – and is well regarded by all within our community.

Focused on the health and wellbeing of our residents, Sandra has developed close relationships with local medical teams, care providers and pharmacists. She is passionate about the importance of family, and can also guide you on choices to support your independence, and maintain your wellbeing through good nutrition.

Chris Biggin, Assistant Village Manager

Chris brought 25 years of hospitality experience to The Granton when he joined us in 2019. His genuine enthusiasm for bringing people together makes a positive difference to communities. Going above and beyond to support our residents and their families in their transition to retirement living, Chris puts people at ease through his empathy, respect and professionalism.

COVID-19

Our residents’ safety is our priority.

During the COVID-19 pandemic we took proactive measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff.

This included a comprehensive COVID-19 safety plan that allowed us to deliver meals and supplies through room service safely – so residents could stay inside their apartments, if they chose to.

Strict screening practices and daily sanitisation enabled regular family visits where possible, while daily personal check-ins with residents to ensure they had everything they needed. Staff were also provided with appropriate personal protective equipment.

Residents received ongoing communications about our operational changes as well as government advice, thanks to the introduction of new Lumin technology. Its touch screen tablets and video call and messaging system are intuitive, making it easy for all our residents to keep in touch with family, friends and neighbours.
